As Americans are living longer than ever and their adult children are increasingly called upon to care for them, the need for home health services has grown faster than ever. In 1997, when Ann Zimmerman and Marcia Leonard recognized a need for home health services in the Emmaus, Pennsylvania region they began to offer services as independent home health aids. During that year, Ann and Marcia contracted with the Lehigh County Agency on Aging to provide services thus beginning the partnership that has become AMS Caregivers, INC.

  AMS Caregivers is locally owned and operated by lifelong residents of our community. and is not part of a national franchise. 

 

1998: Services are expanded to include personal care

              facilities and nursing homes.

1999: Originally a registry, AMS Caregivers restructured

              as an Agency to meet the changing requirements of

              government guidelines and standards.

2000: AMS initiates a comprehensive Quality Assurance

              Program to provide ongoing employee training.

2001: Licensed by the State of Pennsylvania to conduct

             and maintain a health facility as a Home Health

             Agency providing Skilled Care services.

2002: Adds ERP software to enhance operational readiness

             and client satisfaction.

2003: Physical Therapy and Staffing Services are now

             offered and an on-staff certified CNA instructor.

2004: AMS, in conjunction with Northampton County

             County Community College, offers a Home Health

             Aide certification class.

2005:    AMS Caregivers opens Adult Day Services Program
